Ring Toss Game

The game of Ring Toss, is thought to have evolved from the Greek sport of discuss throwing. Distance was the key to discuss throwing, but was replaced with accuracy in the game of ring toss. Stakes were added, and this the modern game of Ring Toss that we know now.

Ring Toss Equipment:
4 Rings, 2-4 Stakes and 2 Stands. For outdoor play drive the stakes into the ground and for indoor play or play on hard surfaces place the stakes into the stands.

How to play Ring Toss:
When only two people are playing, both players stand behind the same set of stakes. The first player throws two rings of the same color, one at a time, at opposite stakes. The second player then trows his two rings which are of the other color. Players play in the same order throughout the game. After throwing at one stake, players throw at the other stake, and alternate stakes on each turn.

Ring Toss Scoring:
A ring thrown over a stake (a Ringer) counts as three points. A double ringer (two rings of th esame oclor on a stake) counts as six points. If there are no Ringers, the ring closest to the stakes scores one point or if two rings of one player are closer then either of the opponenet's rings, they score two points.

Ringers by opponenets nullify each other. If both players throw double ringers there is no score.

The game is played to a set number of points usually 21.
If both players score 21 on the same turn, the player with the highest total is the winner. If there is a tie, play continues until the tie is broken.nts wins the game.
